CURRENT POLICY GUIDE Calculation basis updated 18 Sep 2026

Which solar policy path applies to you?

The answer depends on location, customer type, connection voltage, system size and how electricity is used. This page gives a practical starting point—not a legal approval.

For Peninsular Malaysia: Solar ATAP includes domestic and non-domestic pathways. Sabah and Sarawak use different utility and policy arrangements.
HomeHousehold systems start at 5 kWp. Solar ATAP limits are 5 kWac for single-phase and 15 kWac for three-phase supply. Eligible SuRIA Home rebate is RM600/kWac, capped at RM3,000 and subject to eligibility and allocation.
BusinessPotential tax incentives may improve the final return. Because eligibility and tax position vary by company, they are disclosed but not included in the calculation.

Why a business estimate needs more information

Maximum Demand, voltage level, operating hours, weekend load and self-consumption can materially change the suitable capacity and savings. A monthly bill alone is only a first screen.

What this calculator currently does

For eligible Peninsular Malaysia cases, it combines electricity used on site at RM0.50/kWh with eligible excess energy using a RM0.19/kWh planning value based on recent variable System Marginal Price data. Actual SMP changes monthly. Household rebate is calculated at RM600/kWac up to RM3,000; eligibility and available allocation must be confirmed. Business tax incentives are mentioned but not calculated.
